Porto Theme Update

Porto Theme Update

Client request

Update the Porto theme to the latest version.

What we found

During the audit, it became clear that a straightforward update wasn't possible — the theme contained a significant amount of customizations accumulated over the lifetime of the project: rewritten pages tailored to the client's business logic, added custom blocks, custom module files integrated into the theme structure. A direct update on top of such a theme would have wiped out these modifications and broken store functionality.

Our solution

We prepared a proposal estimated at 16 hours, covering: Analysis of changes — documenting all customizations to ensure nothing is lost during the update.

Careful merge — bringing in the latest Porto version while preserving the client's custom work. Deployment via stage — all changes are first rolled out to the staging environment.

Stage verification — testing functionality and layout before going live. Live release — pushing to production only after confirming everything works correctly.

What the client said

Our Porto theme had years of custom modifications — rewritten pages, custom blocks, integrated modules. We were genuinely worried that an update would break everything. Instead, the team did a careful audit, documented every customization, and merged the new Porto version without losing a single piece of our work. The staging environment let us verify everything before going live. Truly professional approach.
